Welcome to
Paloma Palms!

Paloma Palms is a fictional city I created in the computer game Cities Skylines with a focus on public transportation.

The city has a population of approximately 260k complete with its very own Target, Ikea, two universities AND a world class resort! Creating virtual cities has kind of become a secondary passion and if I wasn't a Video Producer, I'd probably be in urban or transportation planning. This specific city is an amalgamation of Miami, Orlando, and New York.

Take a tour of the city or ride along on one of the commuter rail routes, complete with its own graphic design identity (graphic design is NOT my main function!). Or simply enjoy some good 'ol fashioned postcard style images of Paloma Palms!

TAP (Transportation Authority of Paloma Palms) is the fictional transportation agency that provides commuter rail, metro, and bus services to the Paloma Palms region. To experiment with and understand how real agencies craft their brand identity I dove into the YouTube accounts of transit enthusiasts, the instagram account of the MTA/NYCT, and referenced the book Helvetica: Homage to a Typeface. These are very much fictional maps and for one they are flawed/present their own unique challenges that a proper designer might have nightmares about, such as configuring how to add station names to the Metro Transit Map! Could Massimo Vignelli figure it out? I don't know, you tell me...
